Secret love
Part 1
'Hiiiiiiiiiii honey!' Jason grins as he enters the classroom. He knows exactly where to find Scott when he's unfindable. Yeah. Which is the small English room in the 5th block. It's always quiet around there, since most the classrooms are apparently unfit to work in. Unfit, as in, the ceilings are crumbling and the windows are still getting baseballs thrown through them. The school simply can't afford to modernise the place, in case you were wondering.
Scott smiles, wearily, 'I come here for a reason Jason,' he massages his temples, looking stressed, which is a rare sight.
'Indeed you do... for peace and QUIET!!!!' Jason animatedly runs to him and screeches in Scott's ear. Oblivious of people's moods, Jason always tries (and fails) to cheer them up anyway.
'Ugh!' Scott slams his head on the desk. 'Will you quit it, please... my mom was rushed to hospital last night! I've been awake since like 4am!' he covers his eyes and sighs. His stomach still knotting, not knowing what's wrong with her, what's happening nor what state she's currently in.
Jason quickly looks concerned, 'Holy sh** what happened?'
'Pfft, she had a fit or something, I-I didn't see, I just heard Kate, screaming... then dad calling for 911 and it's all just a massive blur! I don't even know why I'm here!!' he starts crying, 'I wanted to stay, to see if she was OK to come home, but dad insisted I go to school and not think about it, HOW CAN I NOT THINK ABOUT IT?!!?!!?! I don't even kno-' he buries his head, now overwhelmed with emotions.
Jason clears his throat, 'I'm sure it's not err, THAT serious, heh, people have fits all the time,' he tries to comfort him, 'Maybe she has undiagnosed epilepsy or something, can happen,' Jason smiles nervously, hating seeing his boyfriend in tears, but honestly has no idea what to say. Scott may be part Spanish somewhere but he still turns rather pink when he's flustered.
Jason flings an arm round him and squeezes his shoulder, 'Look, dude, if you're THAT worried, lets just go to the hospital. What was your dad thinking making you come here anyway? The state you're in!' he laughs.
'We can't. My dad'll just,' Scott sniffs, 'He'll just push me back here...' he seems a little quieter than usual. Though it's nothing new to Jason, that Scott dislikes his dad's 'ways' and is constantly preaching that they stay strong and never cry, crying's for weak people etc. etc.
'Fine then! I'LL go!' Jason jumps up and heads out the door, but pops his head back in, 'Just tell me what she looks like, and what ward she's in, oh and, which hospital is it??!'
Scott smirks, still wiping his eyes, 'Just-just walk with me to the entrance, OK? I'll-I'll be fine,' he takes a deep breathe and grabs his backpack.
'Nooo, I wanna meet your dad! Well, err, I know it's kinda a bad time but err, yeah! I might be part of your family one day, so, have to start somewhere!' despite the situation, Jason's intrigued to finally meet Scott's family. Scott rarely talks about any of them, and even changes the subject when he does. Which Jason finds slightly odd/annoying at times.
'Jason, that's not a good idea,' Scott says, plainly.
'Oh c'mon! I bet they're awesome! You're awesome, so your dad and sisters and brother MUST be awesome, hehe,' Jason tugs Scott's cheek. Scott just wafts him away, looking apprehensive, among other feelings.
Part 2
Jason's bunking school, again, but this time for good reason. Nothing else matters at the moment, nothing but Scott. And his mom, of course.
Jason and Scott are heading towards Punksdale general Hospital, though they haven’t spoken for the last 20 minutes. Jason glances at Scott, who still has his head down, staring at the ground. He looks so lost... and is quieter than usual. He has a feeling Scott's hiding something. Though it couldn't be more important than his mom taking ill, surely? Jason takes a breathe, 'You OK? I mean apart from your mom and all, heh.'
'Hm?... Yeah, yeah, I was fine yesterday, ha!' he perks up a bit, for Jason's sake.
They both go quiet again as they near the entrance of the Hospital. Scott rubs his arm and glares up at the sky for a moment. Clear and calm, but it could break out in heavy rain and thunder at any minute. Just like Scott.
'Stay here!' Scott says, not looking at Jason, and heads in, 'I mean it... I wont be long.'
It doesn't take a genius to realise Scott is totally on edge. But Jason has no idea what else to do at this point, so he simply waits for 5 minutes. Until he quickly loses his patients, of course, and decides to rush inside. Mostly out of curiosity and to meet Scott's family.
Jason approaches the reception desk, 'Hi, err, is there a Mrs Razell in this ward?'
'Are you a relative?' the receptionist asks, 'Someone's just come in to see her-'
'Nephew!' Jason smiles, hoping it'll be a lot quicker than saying he's the patient's son's boyfriend who's basically not a relative, thus not allowed anywhere near her.
She gives him directions and points everywhere, Jason rushes along before he forgets where exactly. At this moment Jason's wondering if Scott's even made it there yet, and whether he'll be able to recognise any of his family, if not. Regardless, he confidently heads in the right direction. The signs catch his eye, Yup, epilepsy ward. He was highly surprised she was there, even though he suggested as much to Scott earlier.
Jason glances around, starting to doubt if it's the right room, as he can't see Scott anywhere. Though he does spot a darkish-skinned, quite large man with a young girl. Scott's dad and youngest sister? Jason assumes as much and calmly walks over to them.
'Um... Hi?' Jason chirps. The large man glares round at him, his dark blue eyes an obvious give away by now. Jason always adored Scott's dark blue eyes. They seemed to stand out a mile from his light brown skin and dark brown hair. 'Are you Mr Razell?' Jason smiles, but becomes nervous as he realises Scott's still nowhere to be seen.
'Yes... and you are?' he looks rather confused at Jason.
Part 3
'He's my FRIEND!!' Scott suddenly appears from nowhere, 'from, school... dad, err, he just wanted to know how we were err, all doing! Heh-hem, I had to tell someone about mom, is she OK??? Have they gave her any medication?' Scott quickly changes the subject. Then his dad explains she had, in fact, had an epileptic fit and only needed to stay in for some tests, that Kate, Scott's sister, said her mom was just watching TV then started twitching and fell off her chair.
Jason blanks out the 2 of them chatting, however, as he feels he knows why Scott didn’t want him to meet his family. Just a friend am I?? Jason suddenly feels hurt. Though he isn't sure WHY he said that, yet.
They'd been 'dating' for a while really, going to see movies, bowling, eating takeaways, the usual stuff but it's still dating right? Jason wasn't even sure if Scott had outed to his family yet, not that it mattered. What DID matter is that Jason had been referring to him as 'his boyfriend' for at least a month now. So for Scott to not introduce him as such obviously hurt. But perhaps this simply wasn't the right time.
'Thank god she's OK,' Scott sighs, relieved that his mom's safe and being cared for. The knot in his stomach quickly untying as he watches over his mom, who's now asleep, having had quite an eventful night herself.
'Ha, you gave us all a shock woman,' Mr Razell laughs, clutching his wife's hand tightly. Just before any true emotion appears on his face he lectures, 'Heh-hem, you should get back to school Scott, I-'
'NO!' Scott snaps back.
His dad continues anyway, 'I don't want you to miss any important classes. You've already missed out a lot of time in middle school.' and THAT would be down to the fact you're a pretty heartless, selfish dad at times lol.
'Mom's more important than class dad,' Scott holds back his anger. Tired of the way his dad prioritises things.
'Well, she's fine, see? She'll be back by the time you get home and everything will be back to normal. She'll have more pills to take but she wont be phased, haha,' Mr Razell fondly glares at his wife.
Jason watches them both exchanging harsh words, until he spots Kate, Scott's youngest sister, staring at him. 'Hey...' he smiles. She continues staring at him with her big yellow eyes. Just as Scott's blue ones stand out, so does his sisters, contrast to their dark skin and hair.
'You're fly's undone,' she glances down and giggles.
Jason blushes slightly and looks down, quickly realising she's lying, of course. 'Pfft, oldest trick in the book of old tricks!' he laughs.
'And you fell for it,' she sticks her tongue out. Jason isn't even sure how old she is, but she looks about 9, 10? Either way, he already likes her, immature, subtle, innuendo is hilarious to him.
'Fine,' Scott sighs in agreement with his dad, finally, and decides to head back to school. Even though he can't be bothered with anyone or anything at the minute, and would rather see how his mom's doing.
'See? I told ya she'd be OK,' Jason smiles, partly forgetting the 'boyfriend' issue. He still feels he should mention it, however, so waits until they're at the hospital entrance again.
Part 4
'Scott... are you ashamed of me or something?' Jason asks, casually. Probably too casually, as the make their way back to school.
Scott just laughs, 'No! Why?' he looks confused but then suddenly recalls, 'Oh... Jason. Look, I'm sorry, I know we're 'together' now but err, it's-I can't really-I mean I haven't actually!-'
'Spit it out!! Geeez!!!' Jason laughs loudly. He gets rather agitated when Scott bottles things up or doesn't get to the point.
Scott sighs, again. Knowing now, he'll have to tell Jason the truth, regardless of his reaction, 'I haven't told my mom or dad I'm dating anyone... or that I'm gay. Happy now?' Scott laughs, quietly, and continues walking ahead of Jason. Yet again avoiding such subjects, and wondering what Jason is now thinking. Thinking that he's a coward? That he should just tell them? Either way, Scott's scared to even admit to himself that he's worried what his dad will think.
Jason watches him, blankly, for a moment... 'AWESOME!!'
'Huh??' Scott turns around, confused, only to find Jason grinning like a maniac and standing right behind him.
'Hohohoo, don't you love secret relationships?? Well, the whole school probably kinda knows, BUT apart from them! At least you can just "come over my house" to "play video games", huh huh??' Jason elbows Scott, assuming he's also thinking dirty thoughts. I somehow doubt it. Yeah, the narrator can talk, woooo. I poke you.
'Pfft, yeah!' Scott laughs, 'We do that anyway,' he obviously doesn't get the dirty meaning. Being like, not perverted and everything.
'So err, yeah, WANNA come over and play video games?? As far as our parents are concerned we're both at schooooool,' Jason tickles Scott's back as he talks in his ear. Or licks his ear. I can't see from here.
Scott gives him an odd look, 'Errrrrr, maybe another time? Haha!
